This is my fourth Christmas with Nick. Christmas is suppose to be a joyous time of year. It is about celebrating Christ’s birth, and holding our love ones dear. It is so easy for me to get wrapped up in the world’s view of Christmas. I think of all of the things my friends may be doing for Christmas. Buying gifts, traveling, and dining in the most expensive places. Yes I do want all of those things, yet they are hard to have when we don’t have much money. I know I would feel much worse if I didn’t have Nick in my life. I just wish I could give him everything and more this Christmas. I can’t lie either, I want things for myself too. I dream about one Christmas getting a beautiful diamond engagement ring, and Nick proposing to me. I shouldn’t need to fantasize about some picture in my mind that may never happen. I think I just have the holiday blues or something. I remember a much simpler place and time when I was a little girl in Michigan. I loved Christmas Eve get together’s at my mother’s Aunt Rose’s house. All of the people I loved in one place. I could receive all the attention I wanted, and get a few small gifts like a Barbie, a nice sweater, or blouse. I was so happy to just receive something as simple as that. I don’t feel it takes a lot to make me happy at times, but I know I can be pretty high maintenance at times. I think the world’s interpretation of what things should be gets in the way of what happiness truly is and can be. Is it normal to feel this way???

It was a mystery game and you got to go on a beach, and through a ton of trails to go to a house of a little girl or something, and you got to feed the horse apples and wash it and take care of it ike you would in reality…..

what was the name of the game?? i loved it but i wanted to buy it online somewhere for my little cousin for christmas.

I’m makin these things for my little sister for christmas. I’m tryin to figure out how to make a school, house, shop, and a friends/boyfriends house. And i don’t have any money so i’ll have to make this stuff homemade. My mother has TONS of different craft stuff tht i can use. I need help….anyone?

I have been collecting the christmas holiday barbie since she has been born(2007). Is this a good idea?

I’ve been with my husband for 4 years. This is a second marriage for both of us. I have two sons, 12 and 10 and my husband has a daughter, 8, all who live with us full time. My family has excepted my new daughter without question. She receives the same christmas and birthday gifts as my sons do. The problem I have is with my husband’s family.

On our daughter’s 8th birthday I threw a party. Everyone in my husband’s family declined to attend. A few days later I received an invitation in the mail to our own daughter’s b-day party, being thrown by my husband’s aunts. I had to work, but my husband took all 3 children to the party. The amount of gifts was overwhelming. Easily more than 0 had been spent in total.

This summer I called my husband’s aunt (seems to be one aunt in charge of everything) I told her I’d like to plan a Bday party for my son’s, (who’s bdays are 2 days apart) that the family could attend and asked for her help. She called back a week later to tell me it just was not possible and they would all just send a card. They each received cash and a walmart gift card. Total. That was it.

This Sunday we attended the Bday party of yet another child in the family. His gifts easily would have totaled over 0.

My sons are not stupid and can easily see the favoritism. The same thing happens at Christmas time, they all get the same number of gifts, but it’s like comparing a handful of hotwheels cars to a Barbie Dream House.

Again, my family has treated my stepdaughter exactly the same as the others since day one.

I am very hurt by all of this. I would love to know if this is "normal" behavior or if I just need to be grateful for what they do for our daughter and not worry that our sons are treated differently.

i had a dream where it looked like i was in a field nearby my house, and all my old classmates where there in the field,and it looked like summer or spring, i knew who they were, but i never talked to any of them back while i was in school, (i graduated back in 06) and they all had presents and i brought one too, but it wasnt wrapped, i brought a barbie,(in my waking life i bought the same barbie for my niece for christmas) and im looking thru the crowd to see who should i give it too. and im trying to talk to them but they all ignore me.

I watched it when I was young, so it must have been from the 80s or early 90s. In it, toys came to life when no one was around. They were worried about what new toys the kid was getting for Christmas. There was singing. A stuffed tiger may have been one of the main toys. And there was a scene of Barbie in her dream house being sad. I don’t think it was animated. It was a tad creepy. Sorry, that’s a really fragmented description. But I saw it when I was like six and that’s all I can remember.

My girlfriend has a daughter that’s four years old. This is the first christmas that I’ve gotten her anything, I don’t know what she likes, but I heard that you cant go wrong with barbie, so I got her a barbie three story dream house, a few barbies to live in it, and an elmo live. My girlfriend left the gift choosing completely up to me, if there is anyone out there that has had experience with giving these items as gifts, I would really appreciate some feedback. Thanks in advance.

My 4 yr old little sister recieved a toy sewing machine for christmas. She would like to sew a barbie doll dress. does anyone know where I can find a free printable pattern online?

My 4 year old daughter got a huge barbie dollhouse for her 4th birthday in October. Now for Christmas she got a ton of Babie clothes. Is there a Barbie kind of CLOSET to put them in so that they don’t lay scattered all over her dollhouse? But not a barbie luggage. Something that will fit in her house…with little hangers? Is there such a thing?
